Philippine Airlines to launch nonstop flights between Manila and Seattle starting Oct 2

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced plans to initiate nonstop flights between Manila and Seattle beginning October 2, 2024. This marks a significant milestone as PAL becomes the first carrier to establish a direct air link between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
Seattle will be PAL’s sixth destination in the United States and the eighth in North America, reinforcing its position as the airline with the most extensive network of nonstop flights connecting the Philippines and the United States. The new route aims to boost both business and leisure travel between the two regions.
The decision to introduce the Manila-Seattle service reflects the increasing travel demand, with over 900,000 Americans visiting the Philippines in 2023, making the U.S. the country’s second-largest source of tourists.
Initially operating three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the service will offer convenient departures from Manila’s Terminal 1 and Seattle Tacoma International Airport.
Seattle, known as a prominent high-tech business hub and gateway to various population centers in Washington and Oregon, is home to a substantial Filipino American community of over 240,000 people. The new route is anticipated to facilitate travel for both Filipino Americans visiting friends and family in the region and U.S. residents exploring the Philippines.
PAL President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley K. Ng, expressed the airline’s excitement, stating, “Philippine Airlines is happy to say, ‘Mabuhay, Seattle!’ We are proud to welcome Seattle to our growing U.S. route network.”
The launch coincides with planned upgrades to Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, enhancing travel and tourism between the Philippines and the United States.
To commemorate the inauguration of the Manila-Seattle service, PAL is offering special introductory roundtrip fares until April 30, 2024, for travel between October 2 and November 30, 2024, as well as from February 1 to March 22, 2025.

The new service is anticipated to bolster trade and economic activity between the U.S. and Asia. PAL plans to deploy Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for the Seattle route, featuring full-flat seats in Business Class and PAL’s renowned inflight service.
