Host-actress Kris Aquino has provided an update on her health journey following her return to the Philippines from the United States last month, where she had spent over two years receiving treatment for her autoimmune conditions.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Aquino expressed admiration for the medical staff she encountered at a hospital in Taguig, and she hinted at planning an “outdoor wedding,” though she remained coy about the details.

Aquino underwent several medical tests, including a CT scan of her chest and a PET scan, to check for any signs of cancer. “My mother, the late President Cory Aquino, and my grandmother both had colon cancer,” she reminded her followers, noting that cancer runs in her family.

While her tests thankfully showed no visible signs of cancer in her intestines, Aquino admitted with a touch of humor that she dreamt about wanting a new pink Chanel bag in her sleep.

Despite the relief from the test results, Aquino continues to battle five of her six diagnosed autoimmune conditions, with three considered life-threatening. She shared that these conditions could severely damage the artery connecting her heart and lungs, and due to her allergy to steroids, her treatment options are limited.

“I promised myself, bawal sumuko (I won’t give up),” Aquino declared, determined to keep fighting. She revealed that she is dealing with a Lupus Arthritis flare that has impacted her bones and knees, and she will soon start physical rehabilitation therapy using a walker, joking that her calves now “look like toothpicks.”

Aquino also teased an exciting new project, a show set to launch by the end of the year, in collaboration with her former ABS-CBN bosses. While she kept the show's concept under wraps, she confirmed that it would offer a glimpse into her ongoing journey.

Ending her update, Aquino playfully referenced the “small wedding” she had hinted at earlier. “Apologies, but until my groom and I exchange vows, I’m keeping my relationship private,” she said, adding that if and when it happens, “invited naman kayong lahat sa kasal (you’re all invited to the wedding).”
