n anonymous post on Facebook has recently caught the attention of many netizens, igniting a discussion about familial obligations, promises, and the legal implications of breaking them. The post, shared by a member of a popular Facebook group, details a dispute between siblings that raises questions about moral and legal responsibilities.

The poster, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted how their sibling, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), had promised to support their child’s college education. This promise brought immense relief and happiness to the family, who are struggling financially. The sibling, who is financially stable due to their work abroad, made a commitment to help the eldest child pursue higher education.

However, things took a turn for the worse after a family disagreement last year. When the poster reminded their sibling about the upcoming college expenses, they were met with silence and excuses. The sibling claimed that financial difficulties now prevent them from fulfilling their promise, leaving the family in a difficult situation.

The post concluded with the question: "Can I sue my sibling for not keeping their promise?"
