As part of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) 'We Bring You Closer' campaign, special phone booths have been installed in Dubai Metro stations, facilitating free international calls for commuters during Ramadan. Collaborating with Keolis, the operator of Dubai Metro and Tram, four telephone booths have been set up at key stations including Al Ghubaiba, Union, and Jebel Ali Metro stations.
With millions of expatriates residing in the emirate away from their families during this sacred period, these phone booths present a valuable opportunity to strengthen familial bonds and connect with friends.
Under the broader Ramadan initiatives, RTA, in collaboration with volunteers, has introduced a series of community-driven activities aiming to enhance engagement and teamwork. Initiatives like the Modes of Good, Ramadan Tent Project, and internal employee initiatives such as workshops on healthy fasting habits and social gatherings like the Ramadan Bazaar and Iftar Gathering, all contribute to fostering a sense of community and compassion during this holy month.
