The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has announced a significant update regarding their online presence. As of June 1, 2024, the MWO-Dubai will shift its website to a new domain, accessible at https://www.mwodubai.org. This transition marks the end of the existing website https://www.polodubaiportal.org, which will cease operations by the end of May 2024.
This change is a part of MWO-Dubai's continuous efforts to enhance its digital services and provide better support to Filipino migrant workers across Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain. The new website aims to offer an improved user experience and easier access to essential services.
MWO-Dubai provides a range of critical services to Filipino migrant workers, including contract verification to ensure employment contracts comply with UAE labor laws, assistance with employer-related concerns such as unpaid wages or unfair treatment, and liaison services to connect workers with other relevant Philippine government agencies like the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Pag-IBIG.
The Migrant Workers Office has been instrumental in safeguarding the rights and welfare of Filipino workers in the region. The new website is expected to streamline these services further and offer a more user-friendly platform for accessing information and assistance.
Filipino migrant workers and the public are encouraged to visit the new website and follow MWO-Dubai's official Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MWODubaiAndNorthernEmirates/ for updates and announcements.
This advisory was issued by Labor Attaché Atty. John Rio A. Bautista on May 22, 2024, from the Consulate General of the Philippines in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
