UAE set to experience lightning, thunder, and reduced visibility over the next three days

The Emirates is bracing for a tumultuous weather pattern over the next three days as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issues warnings of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. With reports of various intensities of rain across the country, coupled with the possibility of hail in some areas, residents are cautioned about potential flooding risks.

Starting from Monday afternoon through early Wednesday morning, the UAE is anticipated to experience adverse weather conditions. Winds reaching speeds of up to 65kmph are expected to stir up dust, reducing horizontal visibility, while rough seas add to the challenges posed by the inclement weather.

By Wednesday, the northern and eastern regions of the country are expected to bear the brunt of the rainfall, which is forecasted to gradually taper off by evening. Relief is in sight by Thursday, with no rain expected for the day.

Neighboring Oman has already been impacted by heavy rains, leading to flash floods in multiple areas. Emergency officials are responding to reports of families and children trapped in cars and homes, highlighting the severity of the situation.

This forecast follows a series of severe weather events earlier in the year, prompting the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) to implement measures to mitigate weather-related risks. Residents are advised to remain indoors during adverse conditions, echoing previous recommendations for remote work arrangements and distance learning options to ensure safety and well-being.
