Seven Filipinas have been recognized in the 2024 edition of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia list, which honors 100 influential female executives across various industries in the Asia-Pacific region. The prestigious list highlights leaders in sectors ranging from artificial intelligence to retail and finance.
Fortune noted that more than half of the women on this year's list are chief executive officers of companies in the Fortune 500 and Global 500. The 2024 edition also introduced 26 newcomers, including some of the most prominent players in tech and finance.
Among the Filipinas who made the cut are:
Martha Sazon (Rank 38), President and CEO of GCash, which now boasts over 94 million users. Under her leadership, the company is valued at $5 billion, following a major investment from Japan’s MUFG. GCash is expected to go public soon.
Robina Gokongwei-Pe (Rank 48), President and CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings, manages over 2,400 stores across the Philippines, including franchise networks like South Star Drug and The Generics Pharmacy.
Lorelei Quiambao Osial (Rank 67), President and CEO of Shell Pilipinas, is the first woman to hold this position in the company’s history. She also serves as Vice President for Global Finance Operations, with previous leadership roles in the UAE and Iraq.
Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista Dy (Rank 73), President and CEO of Ayala Land, took the helm in October 2023. She was also the only Filipino featured in Forbes’ “Asia’s Power Businesswomen” list in 2023.
Lynette Ortiz (Rank 82), President and CEO of Land Bank of the Philippines, has been leading the state-run lender since May 2023, guiding its mission of promoting countryside development.
Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso (Rank 85), President of Megaworld, assumed leadership in June 2023 after the company's founder Andrew Tan stepped down. She has been with the company since its early days.
Rhoda Huang (Rank 98), President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corp., is the first non-family member to lead the company, which has ventures in real estate, hospitality, banking, and power.
This year’s list is led by Grace Wang, Chairwoman and CEO of Luxshare Precision Industry, followed by Helen Wong of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. and Makiko Ono of Suntory Beverage and Food.
