Dubai International (DXB) airport encountered significant operational hurdles on Tuesday, April 16, due to unprecedented weather conditions in the UAE. The airport authority released a statement acknowledging the disruptions, stating, "We are currently experiencing significant disruption due to the weather and are continuously working with our emergency response teams and service partners to restore normal operations as quickly as possible."

The adverse weather conditions led to flooding and road blockages, severely limiting transport options for both arriving and departing guests. This situation resulted in flight delays, diversions, and affected crew schedules. The authority emphasized that recovery efforts would take some time.

Passengers stranded at the airport due to road closures and flooding were provided with drinks and meals wherever possible. Meanwhile, airport officials urged travelers to confirm their flight status directly with their respective airlines and advised allowing extra time to arrive at the airport.

The airport authority assured that they were working tirelessly with emergency response teams and service partners to overcome the challenges and restore operations to normalcy as swiftly as possible.
