Airline representatives have warned of potential flight delays as unstable weather conditions worsen across the UAE. Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, highlighted heavy rains on April 15-16 that could disrupt some flights. The airline assured affected guests of assistance with itinerary changes to reach their destinations, urging passengers to monitor the airline's website and allocate sufficient travel time to the airport.
Flydubai also cautioned about possible impacts on flight schedules from Dubai International (DXB) airport, advising travelers to arrive at least four hours before departure. Heavy rains and thunderstorms have battered parts of all seven Emirates since late Monday afternoon, with the weather expected to worsen overnight and into Tuesday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Emirates Airline confirmed normal flight operations as of Monday evening but warned travelers of potential road delays. Flydubai stated its commitment to minimizing disruptions, urging passengers to allow extra travel time and stay updated on flight statuses through the airline's website.
These warnings come after heavy rains last month led to multiple flight cancellations and delays in Dubai, including rerouted inbound flights on March 9.
